Monkey? Sí.

I got to the polls yesterday while it was still O-Dark Thirty. In and out, easy peasy. Then I ran over to Walmart to return some capris with a zipper that wasn't completely sewn-in. Oops.

While I was there I picked up a couple of Mrs. Smith's Pumpkin pies and a Cherry pie to stick in the freezer for Thanksgiving. They didn't have any Apple pies. What's up with that? I hate waiting until the week before to get my pies because by then they always seem to be out of what I want. I hardly ever make homemade pies anymore, because I love Mrs. Smith's pies just as well and they're so easy to just stick 'em in the oven. That's a no-brainer for me, especially since we're having 20+ people this year.

Thanks for saying it's OK to listen to my Christmas music now. Phew! And MotherDear also likes the idea of doing a bit of Christmas decorations for Thanksgiving Day, too. She may even put up her little tree. It's only about 4 or 5 feet tall and she puts it on an end table in front of the window with all her special ornaments. My tree will not fit anywhere in this house, so that's going to have to do it. I am thinking of getting a narrow Alpine tree, because my favorite thing about Christmas is seeing all my special ornaments from over the years. All unique and special. We shall see...

Aria and Peter, September 2009
Last year I had my quilter blogging buddy Nancy (Angel, Kirby and Mac's Mom) make me a Monkey Lovie for my grandniece, Aria.

Well, you can never predict what will become a child's Special Thing and this Monkey Lovie, named Peter, is Aria's most Special Thing! In fact, Aria loved Peter so much that her Mommy and Nana worried how Aria would react should Peter be met by some... shall we say, horrible fate?! (Poor Peter was accidentally thrown out once!)

Which is why I asked Nancy to me make a duplicate Monkey Lovie! Peter I is at my SisterDear's house in Aria's crib at Nana's.
Peter II is in Aria's crib at home.

(Aria only gets Peter for naps and night naps.)

Aria is ready to go Trick or Treating, Halloween 2010

Well, after seeing that Aria dressed as a monkey for Halloween, Nancy commented that Aria, or Aria's Mommy and Daddy, must really love monkeys! I can assure you, the choice is all Aria's!

Aria has a monkey backpack/harness.

...and a stuffy, named George.

As you might suspect, there is now a George I and George II.

Just in case. :->

Go out and put some YAY! in your day! I know I will! Big Hugs ♥xo

Our monkey is actually giraffes! She loves them, since she was wee little. Always got excited when they came on tv. I think it had something to do with the pattern of their coats.

Great pics, she is growing up so fast, and that beautiful curly hair!!

I had to laugh at Empress Bee. Again.

We don't shop in Wal*Mart so I don't know about those pies. Are they the same Mrs. Smith's you get in the grocery stores? I'm thinking maybe.

Way cool on Christmas showing up at your house before Thanksgiving. I like Christmas music too.

Aria and her Monkey Lovie is adorable.

Have a terrific day. Big hug and lotsa lovies and scritches to all the babies. :)

Miss Macey is our monkey girl. She has always loved them. Ansley has her special Pooh...and knew that Pooh II at my (Grammie's) house wasn't the real deal. Sigh. Haley and I should have swapped them around so they were both equally 'loved.' What a doll Aria is, but we've known that for a long time.

Big hugs, honey...

Hus is not looking forward to this!lol

I think we're getting Mrs Smith's pies too, probably pumpkin and cherry. They smell fantastic while they bake.
