Sunday Stuff

My parents have 2 More Sleeps before they return from visiting the SisterDears, Brothers, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Grand Kids, Great-Grand Kids, etc. Hooray! Then they can return to spoil Gandalf and Grayson again - their feline Grand Kids!

Yesterday, after I finished up with all the projects that I could possibly manage to fit into a single day, I rested. I fed my cats and we had some snuggle time. I poured myself a nice glass of wine. The phone rang. It was MotherDear. She called so I could hear Dad and SisterDear3 playing the guitar together and singing some of Dad's old favorites. I do hope somebody video-ed it! They played about 6-8 songs while the phone receiver sat on the table and I listened like a fly on the wall! It was wonderful! Dad will be 80 this year and still has his voice!

That was such a wonderful moment for me! And I can't wait for them to come home! Guitar playing, Piano playing and Mother-Dear's cooking! Mmmmm.

I am a lucky woman!

Here's a video of Dad playing in the Garage this past May. Before Breakfast! I love it! Without further delay, I present...

Dad - Live from the Garage!

At the risk of making everyone groan, I'll be working one more day that may possibly involve Painting. As in the Garage. Yup! I'm on a roll... or I'm addicted. I can't decide!

Happy Sunday everyone!

When hubby's dad was alive and we had family get-togethers, he's get out his Les Paul and amp and hold garage concerts. Now his son-in-law and grandson entertains the crew. Those backyard concerts are great memories.

I love your dad! This REALLY makes me want to come back to GA to live.

I went to NC last week and spend an evening with my dad watching Lawrence Welk. It was great ... treasured memories.

Happy painting (I wish I could motivate myself to do some).

That is so cool that your dad is so active and that you get to share these moments with him.
I had a dream I was re-painting a restaurant last night... and I really am *not* a fan of painting!

Barb, they have "2 more sleeps" before they come home - that cracked me up! And tell your Dad I'll have to get him a gig at Carnegie Hall! LOL! :)

That is one thing I regret is not learning a musical instrument.

A wonderful post! How fortunate you are to have your dad playing and singing like that. All such memories in the making!

My dad was a painter, and carried on painting even when he had glaucoma and was almost blind!
